My Story

From a young age, I've always had an eager passion for meeting new people and putting myself in risky situations, discovering only joy and opportunities. Ever since, I have made it a meaning to live my life reflecting my personality, values, and interest every step along the way. I love energizing people and getting them out of their comfort zone, enabling them to experience new situations.

I was born in Galveston, Texas on April 29th, and raised in League City, Texas by the most compassionate parents and family members who have devoted their lives to the happiness of my siblings and I. My bubbly and affable personality has led me to choose Human Resources Management as my major of interest. I am also interested in cardiology and plan to work in the Healthcare Administrative department in a hospital one day, combining both of my passions.

A few of the things I love most is spending time and traveling to new places with my family. People have always been the most valuable part of my life and I feel as if the field of business suits perfectly with my communication and people skills. Texas A&M is part of my family's tradition since 2007. My cousins and all of my siblings have attended this university, and when it was my turn, Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend.

Our Joint Family

When I was born, I was brought to a home with 19 other people including 4 uncles and their wives, along with their 10 kids. Growing up, I never had to worry about being bored or not having anything to do. Living with my big and wild family who was always full of joy and laughter, made each day unique and colorful. I have learned to share everything of mine, even to strangers who I recently meet. I did not know the difference between my siblings and my cousins because I was taught to treat my cousins as my real siblings and uncles and aunts as my own parents.

By 2001, my aunt had 2 more sons completing the 13 kids and 8 adult family of ours.  Amongst the 21 of us, there were many differences. Each of our likes, dislikes, personalities, and mentalities were different and having to cope with each individual a certain way taught me how to be patient. It has always amused me how God can make each human look different, but thinking that each person in this world has a different personality sparked my imagination even more. I became known as our family's "social butterfly" who would have a special connection with each relative and be the one to introduce each of us to new people.

Our family of 21 has faced ups and downs, moments of distress and joy, financial and health battles, along with multiple sacrificial instances to be where we are today. Thanks to God's grace and our family's support, 9 out of 13 of my cousins have successfully graduated, with the rest following behind, starting our first generation of college-goers. Our family has grown extensively with my cousins getting married and giving us lovely nieces and nephews. Although our one home could not fit our growing family, our family still has each other's backs whether we are 10 or 1000 miles apart. Living in a joint family has taught me patience, wisdom, respect, and the importance of caring for others. I would not give up my joint family experience for anything and pray that God blesses our family with happiness and keeps us healthy and strong, always together. Ameen!
